About Sunrise
General Information
Our practice is located in West Raleigh off Trinity road, near the State Fairgrounds. We are a small group practice, allowing us more opportunity to develop a relationship with the children and families we see. We are committed to providing the best possible medical care to our patients, delivered in an open and friendly office setting. We appreciate the trust parents place in us to help in the care of their children and we hope to be a valuable resource for our families as they grow and change.
Sunrise Pediatrics was started in July, 2000. Our physicians, nurses and staff provide care to children and adolescents from birth to age 21. We recognize that every child is unique and we treat each one as an individual. Each physician in the practice follows their own group of patients in order to build a relationship with the children and their families and to improve continuity of care. We enjoy working with families to promote the health and well-being of their children, both physical and emotional, and to help each child reach their full potential.
Office Hours
Our office hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We are closed each day for lunch from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.
Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment and can be scheduled on the same day for acute care needs. We do not allot time for walk-in appointments. Calling the office before bringing your child to be seen makes it easier to accommodate our needs and respect the appointment times for other families who have been scheduled that day.
Telephone Advice
After regular business hours and on weekends and holidays you can call for advice to UNC hospital's HealthLink nurse triage line. The nurse can answer many of your questions after hours and will page the doctor on call when needed. The toll-free number for HealthLink is (888) 267-3675.
There is a small charge for calls after regular business hours.
Newborns
Newborn specialists at your birth center will provide the initial care for your baby. Follow-up after you go home will be arranged with us. Babies are usually seen in the office two to three days after they come home with you. Please call our office to schedule your baby's first follow-up appointment before you leave the birth center or soon after you return home. Call us before the appointment if you have any concerns about your baby.
