MEDICAL RECORDS RELEASE
Effective March 1, 2024 Sunrise Pediatrics has retained Storr Records Management to be custodian of our medical records for the next 3 years. Storr Records Management does not handle billing, medication refills or referrals for the closed practice.

To obtain your medical records from March 29, 2024 onward you will need to download the new authorization form (there are 3 pages) either from our website and send it to Storr Records Management or email them to request the form. You will need to include a photo ID when submitting the records request.

Their contact email is: requestfile@storrrecord.com. At this time they would prefer to be contacted via email rather than by phone due to the high volume of calls about records that they are receiving.

Their address is: 9221 Globe Center Drive, Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560.

Click here to download the Records Request form from this website.

Medical records are being moved in stages from the Sunrise office to the Storr facility. This process will be completed over the next two weeks and they should be more prepared to accept record requests by April 15. The time involved to obtain records may be a bit longer initially as Storr will be processing many record requests. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this period of transition. We will continue to try to expedite this process for everyone.
UPDATE ON MEDICAL RECORDS RELEASE
Beginning this week many of our patient's medical records will be scanned for electronic storage at Storr Records. This company will call patients and parents directly when their copy of the medical record is ready and available.

The scanned electronic health record will be retained in secure storage for a number of years for retrieval in the future by patients or their caregivers if the need arises. Further information about this will be posted here later this month.

We are continuing to process our patient's records as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
A NOTE FROM DOCTOR FENNELL
Many thanks again from doctor Murnane and I for the pleasure of knowing so many wonderful families and their children.

After much consideration of what comes next I have decided to delay my retirement from practicing medicine and will be joining Oberlin Road Pediatrics in Raleigh this Spring. If you would be interested in continuing to see me for your children's care you will be welcomed at Oberlin Road. I will be starting to see patients there in April and will gradually work up to a full schedule over the following few months. Scheduling appointments to see me will begin in the second half of March.

Oberlin Road Pediatrics has a long history of providing medical care to children and adolescents in Raleigh. Their website has a wealth of information about the practice. They care for patients up to 22 years of age. It is a larger group than Sunrise Pediatrics, with an excellent team of physicians. The practice accepts most medical insurance plans including Medicaid. It's important for me to note that they do not accept families into the practice who choose not to vaccinate their children.

Whatever choice you make regarding your children's ongoing medical care I wish all of you good health and much happiness.
PRACTICE CLOSURE
The practice will be permanently closed beginning on March 1. Releasing medical records to our families will continue through March. We will try to expedite this process for everyone. If you still need to request your child's medical record the Authorization for Release of Medical Information form may be downloaded from our website. Click on the FOR PATIENTS tab and a list of forms will open up. It can be faxed to us at 919-788-0519 or emailed to: nurses@sunrisepediatrics.com.

The office will be open during regular hours Monday to Friday for pickup of records or other forms. We will call families when their children's records are ready to be picked up. Thank you for your patience as we work through the closure of this practice.
LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING AHEAD
As we near the closing of Sunrise Pediatrics after nearly 24 years we want to extend our heartfelt thanks again to everyone who has given us the privilege of helping to care for their children. It is truly a bittersweet moment for us. The memories of all the children we have seen are a treasure we will keep forever. We hope that the future brings joy and great success to each and every one of them.

February 29 is the practice’s last day to see patients. If you have not yet requested your children’s medical records please try to do so before the end of this month. Remaining records will be stored in a secure facility after the practice is closed. Information on accessing those records will be posted here.

Best wishes to everyone and all the best.

Dr. Murnane and Dr. Fennell
Announcement of closing of practice
To All of Our Patients,

It is with mixed emotions that we have decided to retire from practice. We have a sense of anticipation of what retirement will bring, but a great sadness in saying goodbye to our staff and our patients. It has been our privilege to care for families over generations. What a gift you have been!

Our last day to see patients will be February 29, 2024. We will be in the office until the end of March as we finish the process of closing. Please let us know how we can best help you transition to a new pediatric practice.

Thank you for your support through the years. We appreciate it more than you will ever know.

Take care,

Beth Murnane, MD and Patrick Fennell, MD
